Since the Ahruga A) are the focus of the first book in the trilogy, B) have rather unique weapons ideologies, and C) are descended from Gaelic stock, and thus technically my descendants (and therefore awesome ;) ), I focused on them first for this series of weapons. Presenting the compilation of Ahrugan weapons, including a few I have not previously put up here. Enjoy :D

There's a reason the Davy Crocketts were retired. Weapons with megaton-range yield are best reserved for strategic applications, not handled by common troopers.

a 40mm grenade has more firepower than the most powerful of gunpowder weapons from the 15th century, yet I carried them on me and used a 203 to put them downrange. The AT-4s, TOWs, and M-47s we carry are likewise leaps and bounds more potent and powerful than weapons used just a century ago. I would say my squad carried more firepower on us than the entire English military circa 1400, and comparable firepower to a Sherman tank. Armour, shields, orbit-to-surface engagements, etc. have all escalated the scope and scale of weaponry in the 24th century setting of the novels and game.

The missile launchers here and in the NAU weapons are used against armour- gravtanks and battlewalkers sporting meter to meter-and-a-half thick atomically-bonded armour plating and energy shields designed to withstand phenomenal abuse, not infantry. It takes megaton-yield weaponry to breach that kind of defense. As explained elsewhere when this same criticism was brought up, if you shot my IOTV with a 16th century musket or crossbow, it wouldn't penetrate at all. The bolt would barely stick in an ESAPI plate, and would ricochet right off a Lvl IV ceramic plate, and the musket ball wouldn't even penetrate a IIIA softy. We had to develop more powerful weapons to overcome better armour, then better armour to overcome those weapons, lather, rinse repeat. The primitive predecessors of all of the technology in Dark Nova is under development right now- directed energy weapons, hard armour, energy shielding, powered armour, etc.- and we are already seeing evidence that this arms race will not only continue into the future, but accelerate.

I really need to put up an FAQ on this.
